TO MY ALPHASIGS BROTHERS AND SISTERS I HEREBY PRESENT TO YOU THE FULL TEXT OF THE NATIONAL PACT INCLUDING THE SIGNATORY FRATERNITIES, WITNESSES, AND A BRIEF  PROFILE OF THE ADVOCACY LAUNCHING OF THE 10 YEAR PROGRAM OF “A DECADE OF NON-VIOLENCE”

DECLARATION  OF ADHERENCE TO THE 

NO HAZING PRINCIPLE

Whereas affirms the Sanctity of Human Life, Human Dignity, and the inalienable rights of every human being as the guiding principle to uplift the life of an individual,

Whereas destruction of life, systematic imposition of suffering, affliction, and discomfort in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspect of an individual transgress the rights of man to life and liberty,

Whereas Greek-letter fraternities adhere to the highest standard of ideals and discipline in promoting its principles and objectives to the betterment of an individual and his community,

Whereas it is fundamental to espouse for the development of the individual member as he will extend to the community fraternal relations and communal interest in promoting development and peace and order in Philippine society,

Whereas the signatory fraternities adhere to the advocacy of a 10-year program of a decade of non-violence and promote this end through education, re-education, and projects and programs which will enhance individual and communal development and promote inter fraternity relations for the greater good of Philippine society,

Whereas this declaration is a manifestation of support to the Anti-Hazing Law, and in compliance to the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

profile of the 10-year program and advocacy launching of “a decade of non-violence”

The Manila Hotel Celebration, National Pact Signing, and Advocacy Launching was a SUCCESS. There may have been some technical deficiency which is natural in any organized event but it is assessed as a COMPLETE SUCCESS. First, The National Pact has been signed by Alpha Sigma Phi and Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity and by the National Pact Convenor, the 3-term Senator, one-time Presidential Candidate, and incumbent Mayor of the City of Manila, the Honorable Alfredo Lim, that has been witnessed by 80 brothers and sisters and leaders of Alpha Sigma Phi Philippines. Alpha Phi Omega Leadership and Tau Rho Xi Fraternity President will sign the National Pact  in the Office of Mayor Alfredo Lim with simple photo shoot. The mere signing of the National Pact/Declaration has officially launched the 10-year advocacy program of “A Decade of Non-Violence.” This advocacy shall continue to invite greek-lettered fraternity signatories to the National Pact in a regular basis until such time all greek-lettered fraternities have already signed the Declaration. The National Pact/Declaration is a prelude to the creation of a National Interfrat Commission (NIC) through an Executive Order issued by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, which does not require congressional mandate. The NIC shall serve as the regulating and implementing body of the Anti hazing Law, and that the pioneering signatory fraternities shall be an integral part of the commission, portion of the NIC idea may be refined or change to comply with the procedural requirements of the law.
